As many of you know, becoming a Professional PGA Tour Player is a very difficult goal to accomplish.  Many members of The Moors have competed in many different levels of golf from junior tournaments to USGA national events. Todd Vernon, who is the son-in-law of member Craig Platt, has been an aspiring professional golfer who The Moors has stood by and sponsored for the past few years. He has recently decided that his voyage to get to the sports ultimate goal has come to an end.

      Through Todd’s professional career he has played on a number of tours including the Hooters Tour and the Asian Tour. Todd successfully made it to the second level (of three) of the PGA Tour Qualifying School two out of the past three years and qualified 6th in the Asian Tour School.

    Watching Todd try to accomplish this unbelievably difficult goal has been exhilarating.  Knowing the passion that he has for the game and the determination to succeed gives us all much appreciation for how tough it is to get the opportunity to compete against the best. The lessons that Todd has learned while on tour will no doubt prove to be very valuable in the next chapter of his life.
